After the tenants left in Bağcılar, the craftsman who came to the house for renovation panicked greatly when he saw pipes and cables inside the vest. The police who arrived at the scene determined that the vest was rigged with cables to resemble a bomb.

CRAFTSMAN WHO CAME FOR RENOVATION FOUND BOMB DEVICE

The incident occurred around 14:30 in Yenimahalle Neighborhood, 1548th Street, Bağcılar district. According to allegations, foreign nationals living as tenants on the second floor of a two-story building had left the house some time ago. The landlord called a craftsman to the empty house for renovation. The craftsman, who panicked greatly upon seeing pipes and cables inside a fabric vest in the house, informed the apartment owner. Upon the notification, bomb disposal and crime scene investigation teams were dispatched to the scene. In the investigation conducted by the police teams, it was determined that construction materials were placed inside the pipes in the vest and were rigged with cables to resemble a bomb.

"I WAS SCARED AND CRIED"

Building resident Dilek Sezer said, "The building has 3 floors, they lived on the top floor, I lived on the ground floor. They set up a bomb device. There is a place like a roof, they prepared something wrapped in a vest for whatever they were going to do. The friend who came to renovate the house found it. The police came, they evacuated us from the house, and they cordoned off the building. Then bomb disposal experts came, they disposed of it, and took the pieces away in bags. Of course, I was scared. I went outside, called my mother, and called my sisters. I was scared and cried," she said.
