The closure of the women's beach by the municipality in Karacabey district of Bursa was discussed at the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality council meeting. Karacabey Mayor Fatih Karabat criticized the previous AK Party Mayor Ali Özkan, saying, "Instead of giving permits to nightclubs, you should have given permits to the women's beach."

During the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality council meeting, Fatih Karabat, the Mayor of Karacabey from the Good Party, made a statement regarding the women's beach issue that gained attention with its closure. Karabat said, "We are never against legal activities. Currently, our coastal areas are under the jurisdiction of the metropolitan council. Instead of giving permits to nightclubs, you should have given permits to the women's beach. We are against any illegal activities that may occur there. That's why we fulfilled the demands of our people."
