The Mayor of Seferihisar, Ismail Yetiskin, who was arrested in the bribery investigation against the Seferihisar Municipality, has been suspended from duty by the Ministry of Interior.
The Mayor of Izmir's Seferihisar Municipality, Ismail Yetiskin, who was arrested in the bribery investigation against the municipality, has been suspended from duty.
In a statement from the Ministry of Interior, it was stated that “In accordance with Article 127 of the Constitution and Article 47 of the Municipal Law No. 5393, he has been temporarily suspended from duty by the Ministry of Interior as a precautionary measure.”
Twelve suspects, including Mayor Ismail Yetiskin, who was detained in the bribery investigation against Izmir's Seferihisar Municipality, were arrested.
SEFERIHISAR INVESTIGATION
In the bribery investigation against Seferihisar Municipality, detention orders were issued for 26 individuals, including Seferihisar Mayor Ismail Yetiskin, Balcova Mayor Onur Yigit, Seferihisar Deputy Mayors N.H. and I.K., and Izmir Metropolitan and Guzelbahce Municipal Council Member D.B. Twenty-five suspects were detained in operations conducted on June 25 in Istanbul, Adana, and Aydin, centered in Izmir.
Among those detained, Balcova Mayor Yigit's mother Meryem Yigit and O.F.S. were released after their statements at the police station.
Balcova Mayor Onur Yigit and Izmir Metropolitan and Guzelbahce Municipal Council Member D.B. were released under judicial control with the condition of "house arrest," while suspect E.K. was released after his statement at the prosecutor's office.
