Before the local elections on March 31, Tekirdağ Metropolitan Mayor Dr. Candan Yüceer announced that there would be a 50% discount. However, just 8 months after taking office, he made a surprising decision to increase water prices by 50%. This decision caused a significant backlash in the city.

The General Assembly of Tekirdağ Water and Sewerage Administration (TESKİ) was held under the chairmanship of Tekirdağ Metropolitan Mayor Dr. Candan Yüceer. In the meeting, it was decided by a majority vote to increase water fees by 50%. This decision has created a seismic effect throughout Tekirdağ.

With the decision made at the General Assembly of Tekirdağ Water and Sewerage Administration (TESKİ), water and wastewater fees have been increased by 50%.
