The organizational changes that began after İzzet Ulvi Yönter's resignation from the MHP continue unabated. The party recently dissolved the Ardahan Provincial Organization and appointed Sevim Köseliören as the Provincial Chair.
MHP Deputy Chairman Semih Yalçın announced the dissolution of the Ardahan Provincial Organization. In his statement, Yalçın indicated that the decision to dissolve was made based on the relevant articles of the party's charter. He also announced that Sevim Köseliören was appointed as the Provincial Chair of Ardahan in the same statement.
Yalçın expressed in a post on his social media account that the dissolution decision was based on articles 34, 52, and 54 of the charter.
THE CHANGE PROCESS ACCELERATED AFTER YÖNTER'S RESIGNATION
It appears that the recent series of organizational dissolutions in the MHP gained momentum after İzzet Ulvi Yönter resigned from the position of Deputy Chairman on March 27. The developments following Yönter's statement about "agents in the MHP" created a significant fracture within the party.
9 PROVINCIAL ORGANIZATIONS DISSOLVED
In recent weeks, the MHP has dissolved many provincial organizations. The process, which started with the Istanbul Provincial Chairmanship, also led to the closure of the organizations in Kütahya, Kars, Eskişehir, Bilecik, Çanakkale, and Muğla. Most recently, it was announced that the Bolu Provincial Organization was also dissolved. With Ardahan, the number of dissolved provinces has risen to 9.
The party administration did not share any details regarding the rationale behind these decisions.
