The Ministry of Trade, in cooperation with the Ministry of Treasury and Finance and the Advertising Self-Regulation Board, informed "influencers" (social media influencers) about their legal and ethical responsibilities in content production processes.
According to information obtained from the ministry, a "Responsible Social Media Influencers Training Program" was organized for influencers. TRAINING ON "SHARING" FOR INFLUENCERSThe program was carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, and the Advertising Self-Regulation Board. During the training, presentations were made to the phenomena who influence citizens with their shares, regarding legal regulations on consumer rights and social media advertising, the structure and functioning of the Advertising Board, and example decisions. Training was also provided on topics such as the fundamental ethical and legal rules of marketing communication, principles of responsible advertising, copyright, and the protection of personal data. Topics that influencers should avoid in their shares were also included in the training. Tax inspectors assigned by the Tax Audit Board also provided participants with information about taxation and legal obligations in social media activities. TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED TO 1000 INFLUENCERS BY THE END OF THIS YEARThe first program, held on November 25 at the Tax Audit Board's service building in Istanbul, lasted all day and was attended by influencers with 300,000 or more followers on their social media accounts. 70 phenomena who participated in the training successfully completed the program and earned a participation certificate. The training program is planned to be conducted face-to-face in Istanbul every two months throughout the year. It is aimed that nearly 1000 social media influencers will participate in the program by the end of 2025. The next training is planned to take place in January.
