After the explosion, which is believed to have been caused by natural gas, in the building on Osmancık Street in Çorum, a large number of fire, medical, and police teams were dispatched to the area. One person lost their life in the incident, and 16 people were injured. The explosion caused severe damage to the building, and many homes, businesses, and vehicles were damaged.

Additionally, the surrounding buildings were evacuated, and some citizens were rescued from their homes via fire department ladders. The street was closed to traffic, and a security cordon was established in the area.

GOVERNOR ÇALGAN MADE A STATEMENT

Governor Ali Çalgan stated that, according to initial assessments, a natural gas explosion occurred on the third floor of the five-story building. Çalgan said, "One of our citizens lost their life in the incident. Many of our citizens were also injured. The injured were transferred to healthcare facilities in the area. The teams' work in the region is ongoing."
