While the fire in Menderes originated from a hobby garden, the fire in Çeşme was caused by a cigarette butt. THE MOMENT THE FIRE STARTED WAS CAPTURED ON CAMERAMeanwhile, the moments when the fire in the Germiyan neighborhood of Çeşme district turned 50 hectares of land into ashes were captured on camera. In the footage, it can be seen that a person threw their cigarette butt into the grassy area and the fire started. Although the person who threw the cigarette butt tried to extinguish the fire on their own, the flames spread rapidly due to the strong wind. All these moments are captured on camera second by second. TAKEN INTO CUSTODYIt was reported that there is no suspicion of terrorism related to the incident and the person who caused the fire has been taken into custody. It was also stated that the procedures for the individuals involved in the Menderes fire, which also originated from a hobby garden, are still ongoing. Additionally, approximately 150 hectares of land in Menderes and 350 hectares in Selçuk were damaged by the fire.
