The monthly income of Fidan Atalay, who was detained on charges of obscenity and money laundering, was staggering. It was determined that the former teacher, who has 701 thousand followers on Instagram, had more than 12,100 paid subscribers and earned a net income of approximately 1 million TL each month with a subscription fee of 79.99 TL. All of Atalay's bank accounts have been placed under review.
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that Fidan Atalay, known as "Fidan Hodja" on social media, was taken into custody on charges of "obscenity" and "laundering of property values derived from crime."
"FIDAN HODJA" IN CUSTODY
In a statement made by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated, "The shares, videos, and photo contents made by the Instagram user named/nicknamed 'fidannatalay,' known to the public as Fidan Hodja, constitute the crime of obscenity regulated under Article 226 of the TPC. Since the suspect's earning income through this method also constitutes the crime of Laundering of Property Values Derived from Crime regulated under Article 282 of the TPC, an investigation has been initiated ex officio by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Upon the request of our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the suspect Fidan Atalay has been taken into custody in Izmir Province. The investigation procedures are being carried out meticulously."
1 MILLION TL MONTHLY FROM INSTAGRAM ALONE
