The mother of 17-year-old Atlas Çağlayan, who was stabbed to death in Güngören, spoke out. Gülhan Çağlayan said, "He said, 'Mom, I’m going to my brother.' Half an hour after he left, his twin brother called: 'Mom, they stabbed my brother, he’s dying, hurry up.' When I got there, my son was already gasping for breath. They were doing CPR, but his face was purple, all his blood was gone. All his blood was gone. My child has become soil, and they should suffer that punishment for a lifetime."
In Güngören, during a fight that broke out between two groups, including children, over 'side glances', 15-year-old E.Ç. stabbed 17-year-old Atlas Çağlayan. Despite all interventions, Çağlayan, who was taken to the hospital, could not be saved. Mother Gülhan Çağlayan said, "I want justice for my Atlas. My son was stabbed by murderers in front of the café he went to every day. I want our voice to be heard. The people who did this to my child are 15 years old, but they are not 15-year-old children, they are 15-year-old murderers. And I buried my son underground. My baby has become soil, and they should suffer that punishment for a lifetime."
ATLAS, 17, WAS STABBED TO DEATH
The incident occurred on January 14 at around 20:20 in Emek Street, Mehmet Nesih Özmen Neighborhood. A dispute broke out between two groups, who were previously unknown to each other, after leaving a café due to the claim of 'side glances'. In a matter of moments, the incident escalated into a knife fight, during which E.Ç. (15) stabbed Atlas Çağlayan in the chest with a knife described as a switchblade. Severely injured, Atlas Çağlayan was taken to Bağcılar Training and Research Hospital by an ambulance called to the scene. Despite all interventions here, Çağlayan could not be saved. After the incident, the suspect E.Ç., who was caught by police teams, was taken into custody along with the knife.

Atlas's mother Gülhan Çağlayan said: "I want justice for my Atlas. My son was stabbed by murderers in front of the café he went to every day. I want our voice to be heard. My baby has become soil, and they should suffer that punishment for a lifetime. First, they killed Ahmet, then my baby Atlas. I don't want any other children to be harmed. I don't want other children's mothers to burn. I learned that my son was at home, waiting for me after work. I came home.

When I got to the scene, my son was already gasping for air. They were doing CPR, but his face was purple, all his blood was gone. All his blood was gone.

Then the ambulance came, but it came very late. They revived his heart in the ambulance. We went to the hospital. They took him for emergency surgery. It lasted an hour and a half. My baby couldn't even live for half an hour. It didn't last half an hour. They said, 'He has passed away.' They said, 'He is dead,' they finished my baby, it was over. That murderous killer killed my child. What will happen to him is uncertain. I want him to serve time in prison for life. I want justice for Atlas. I want everyone to hear my voice."
