A mother and the person she lived with were sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of her one-year-old baby in Antalya. During the hearing at the Antalya 3rd High Criminal Court, the detained defendants Aygül Ç. and Ahmet Ö. attended, and the lawyers of both parties were also present in the courtroom. WHAT HAPPENED?Aygül Ç., residing in the Cihadiye neighborhood of Aksu district, took her one-year-old baby Toprak to the Aksu District Polyclinic on July 18, 2023, claiming that he had fallen from the sofa and became unwell. The baby, who was found to have bruises caused by beating on his body, could not be saved despite the intervention at the polyclinic. After the autopsy of the baby at the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institution, Aygül Ç. and her partner Ahmet Ö. were arrested.
