The incident occurred in Etem Street, Kalfalar Neighborhood, in the central Meram district. According to the information obtained, when the neighborhood residents, who live on the street, went out to throw away trash, they heard a baby crying from inside the trash container. Upon receiving a report about an abandoned baby at the 112 Emergency Call Center, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The baby, handed over to the health officials who arrived at the scene, was taken to Konya City Hospital for examination after the first intervention.

Meanwhile, the teams from the Crime Prevention Bureau of the Meram District Police Department, which started working to capture the mother who left the baby in the trash, conducted checks one by one in the houses on the street. Following the information provided by neighbors who said that 28-year-old H.E.S., a mother of five children living on the second floor of a two-story adobe house on the street, was pregnant, the young woman was taken into custody by the police.
