The mufti who led the funeral prayer for the five siblings who lost their lives in the fire did not ask for forgiveness.

The funerals of the 5 siblings who lost their lives in a house fire in the Selçuk district of İzmir were buried. The children's funerals, buried side by side in Acarlar Cemetery, were attended by their father Hakan Akcan, who was brought from Torbalı Open Prison. Father Akcan poured water on his children's graves.

A funeral prayer was held for the 5 siblings at Selçuk Tahsin Ağa Mosque during the afternoon prayer. The prayer was attended by Provincial Mufti Sinan Kazancı, father Hakan Akcan, relatives, and close ones. Hakan Akcan, who is detained in prison, attended the funeral with the permission of the prosecutor's office, accompanied by gendarmerie. Struggling to stand and unable to hold back his tears, Akcan kissed each of his children's coffins lined up side by side. It was learned that the mother Melisa Akcan, who was brought to the mosque with gendarmerie for the funeral and will be referred to the courthouse for the charge of 'causing death by negligence', was unable to get out of the vehicle due to her distress.

NO FORGIVENESS WAS SOUGHT DURING THE FUNERAL PRAYER

Provincial Mufti Sinan Kazancı, who led the funeral prayer, said, "Dear brothers, I will not seek your forgiveness and I will not ask for forgiveness. What is required of us here is to wish patience and strength to the relatives, especially the mother and father, and to all of you." The siblings' funerals were sent to Acarlar Cemetery in the Selçuk district for burial.
