WHAT HAPPENED?
Akın İpek, who is still in England as a fugitive of FETÖ, was a printing house owner who made wedding invitations during his time in Turkey and became a gold mine owner with the support of organization members. Shortly after purchasing Kanaltürk television and radio, he established Bugün TV along with Bugün and Millet newspapers. He financed the İpek Media Group, which carried out organization propaganda until it was closed by a Decree Law. Additionally, the establishment and financing of various foundations, universities, and similar educational institutions were carried out by members of the İpek family on behalf of FETÖ. On the other hand, it was revealed that while organization members were forced to deposit money to save Bank Asya, İpek transferred his money abroad after the local elections in 2014.
During the audits of the Capital Markets Board, irregular transactions were detected in İpek's publicly traded companies, which continuously reported losses aside from the gold mine. A lawsuit was filed against İpek, who ordered a Porsche after the public offering of his printing house; purchased a Hummer SUV, yachts, and jets with money from small investors, and did not even cover his VIP protection expenses.
KOZA ALTIN WAS TRANSFERRED TO THE TREASURY AND THEN TO TVF
According to the decision published in the Official Gazette dated August 20, 2024, bearing the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the entire shares of 12 companies, including Koza Altın İşletmeleri Anonim Şirketi, owned by the Treasury were transferred to the Turkey Wealth Fund (TVF).
