IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT THE POLICE COMMITTED SUICIDE The incident occurred on June 14 at 19:25 on Kariye İmarathanesi Street in Ayvansaray Neighborhood, where colleagues of police officer Semih Gülmüş (33), who did not go to work, went to his home after not hearing from him. After the door was opened with the help of a locksmith, Gülmüş was found motionless. Upon notification, crime scene investigation teams and medical teams were dispatched to the scene, and it was determined that the police had shot himself in the head and died.

As far as I know, he was a good person. Everyone was satisfied with him; we did not see any problems. He used to come and go to the grocery store. That's all I know. I never noticed him asking for a black bag. Someone else might come and ask for a black bag; I can't know what he wanted or what I wanted."
STARTED DUTY IN 2017 It was reported that Semih G., who allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with a gun, started his duty in 2017 at the Fatih Patrol Teams Directorate, was assigned to the Fatih Crime Scene Investigation Group Directorate in 2018, and had been serving at the Fener Greek Patriarchate under the Fatih Protection Bureau Directorate since 2023. It was learned that Semih G. was single, lived alone at the address he resided, and that his mother had passed away, while his father and six siblings lived in Erzurum.
