Abdullah Özdemir, who was nominated for the AK Party Istanbul Provincial Presidency, left his position as the Mayor of Bağcılar, and a new president was determined at the municipal council meeting. WHO IS YASIN YILDIZ?Yasin Yıldız, born in 1983 in Istanbul, is originally from Gümüşhane. He graduated from the Faculty of Business Administration at Eskişehir Anadolu University and completed his master's degree in Local Governments at Istanbul Aydın University. He started active politics in 2004 in the youth branches of the AK Party in Bakırköy district. Between 2007-2009, he served as the district chairman of the Bakırköy youth branches, and from 2009 to 2019, he held positions as a municipal council member in Bahçelievler and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. Between 2012-2015, he was appointed as the provincial deputy chairman responsible for local governments in the AK Party Istanbul Provincial Youth Branch. After the 2014 local elections, he took on the role of Deputy Mayor of Bahçelievler. In 2021, he was elected as a member of the provincial executive board at the AK Party Istanbul Provincial Congress. He was elected as a Municipal Council Member in the 2024 local government elections. Yıldız, who is married and a father of two, speaks English. As of July 2024, he has been appointed as the Deputy Mayor of Bağcılar.
