The bloody Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria was overthrown on December 8 when the capital, Damascus, was taken over by anti-regime groups, and Assad fled the country to Moscow. Simultaneously with the march that began on November 27, both regime forces and areas occupied by foreign powers in the country were liberated, and the governance of Syria was handed over to the Syrians. However, there is another group that is an occupier with the support of foreign powers: the terrorist organization SDG/PKK/YPG. OPERATION DAWN OF FREEDOMThe Syrian National Army launched the Dawn of Freedom Operation against the terrorist organization PKK/YPG in the rural areas of Aleppo on December 1, successfully clearing the district center of Tal Rifaat, followed by Manbij, and then Deir ez-Zor from terrorists. THE OPERATION WAS POSTPONEDIn the two neighborhoods of Aleppo that were brought under control on November 30, the presence of terrorists continues in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods. The Syrian National Army postponed operations in these neighborhoods due to civilian sensitivity and repeatedly warned the terrorists to leave the neighborhoods. DOZENS OF CIVILIANS LOST THEIR LIVESThe members of the organization, who ignored these calls, continued to target civilians and anti-regime armed groups by hiding in the neighborhoods and positioning themselves at strategic points. Dozens of civilians lost their lives in the attacks of sniper terrorists. THE SYRIAN ARMY SURROUNDED THE AREAMoreover, due to the ongoing harassment by the organization in these two neighborhoods, transportation distances within Aleppo are also significantly increasing. The people of Aleppo are forced to take long routes to avoid this danger. Ultimately, the new Syrian army sent reinforcements to these two neighborhoods and surrounded them. TERRORISTS HAVE TWO OPTIONSThe terrorist organization PKK/YPG, which Turkey has warned multiple times, has two options: either they will leave, or they will be eliminated.
