The opposition's proposals regarding the minimum wage and poverty, which were presented to the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), were rejected with the votes of the AK Party and MHP.

In the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, the group proposals of the CHP, DEM Party, İYİ Party, and Saadet Party regarding the agenda were not accepted.

In the General Assembly, the group proposals of Saadet Party regarding "minimum wage", İYİ Party regarding "poverty", DEM Party regarding "socio-economic problems", and CHP regarding "agriculture and the problems of producers" were discussed separately.

Sema Silkin Ün, the Saadet Party Deputy from Denizli, who spoke on her party's group proposal, said that not increasing the minimum wage to prevent inflation from increasing by 2 points is against all human feelings. Ün, stating that the citizens are oppressed against high inflation, said, "While tax exemptions are given to employers and rents are postponed, the song 'inflation is rising' is not sung, but when it comes to minimum wage workers, it starts to be exaggerated."

"INTERIM WAGE INCREASE BECAME INEVITABLE FOR THE MINIMUM WAGE"

Burhanettin Kocamaz, the İYİ Party Deputy from Mersin, claimed that poverty has increased and has become one of Turkey's most fundamental problems. Kocamaz, noting that salary increases are low in the face of rising inflation and cost of living, said, "Most retirees struggle with life with salaries below 10,000 liras." Kocamaz, expressing that the minimum wage has eroded against inflation and cost of living, said that an interim wage increase for the minimum wage in July has become inevitable.

Gülcan Kaçmaz Sayyiğit, the DEM Party Deputy from Van, argued that rent increases have exhausted the people. Reminding that the 25% increase limit in rents has been removed, Sayyiğit evaluated, "The rent increase rate will be determined according to the average inflation rate for 12 months. Even the 25% increase rate could not be applied, and there is no guarantee that it will be applied, and as of May, the 12-month average CPI has reached 65%. It is possible for the rent increase rates to exceed 100% from now on."

"DEFLATION PROCESS STARTED WITH THE MONTH OF JUNE"

Ziya Altunyaldız, the AK Party Deputy from Konya, stated that they are aware of rent increases, housing issues, and the problems of citizens who were left homeless in earthquakes. Altunyaldız continued his speech as follows: "We allocate priority to making earthquake victims homeowners. In addition to this, we never leave our other citizens alone with their problems. The deflation process started with the month of June. With this process, the rent increases, which are expected to increase at the level of the average annual inflation rate every month, will decrease every month."

DISCUSSION BETWEEN ALİ MAHİR BAŞARIR AND OSMAN GÖKÇEK

The Deputy Group Chairmen of the CHP, DEM Party, and İYİ Party criticized Altunyaldız's speech. At this moment, a verbal argument broke out between Ali Mahir Başarır, the Deputy Group Chairman of the CHP, and Osman Gökçek, the AK Party Deputy from Ankara. Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Bekir Bozdağ, warned about the use of clean language due to the expressions used in the argument. Özlem Zengin, the AK Party Group Deputy Chairman, also stated that the argument started with Ali Mahir Başarır's taunting. Zengin said, "I condemn the point we have reached by throwing words in vain. Those who were disturbed by the word 'this man' yesterday are now using a ton of insults and a ton of profanity..." The argument continued, and Deputy Speaker Bozdağ adjourned the session for 30 minutes.

After the break, Ayhan Barut, the CHP Deputy from Adana, who spoke on his party's group proposal, stated that farmers are unable to pay their credit debts. Barut said, "Farmers' homes, tractors, cows, everything has been seized, their fires have gone out." Barut made proposals regarding the agricultural sector and demanded an increase in agricultural support, as well as a reduction in agricultural credit interest rates in addition to the input costs of producers.

OPPOSITION PROPOSALS WERE NOT ACCEPTED

In the voting that took place after the discussions, the group proposals of the opposition parties were not accepted. Afterward, the discussions on the Turkish Civil Aviation Law and the Law Proposal on Making Amendments in Some Laws and Decree Laws in the field of transportation were started.
