A bill prohibiting the propaganda of childlessness has been accepted in Russia.
According to the bill passed by the lower house of Parliament, the State Duma, individuals and organizations that promote childlessness will be identified and various penalties will be imposed on them.
Fines of up to 5 MILLION RUBLES
Under the law, individuals other than civil servants will face fines of 100,000 rubles (approximately 1,000 dollars), civil servants will face fines of 200,000 rubles (2,000 dollars), and legal entities will face fines of up to 800,000 rubles (8,000 dollars). If the propaganda is carried out through media outlets, fines of up to 5 million rubles (51,000 dollars) will be imposed, or the activities of the organization responsible may be suspended for up to 90 days.
It has been stated that the law was adopted to protect traditional family values.
