Among those detained within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office are her mother, father, 2 brothers, 3 uncles, and the wife of her uncle Salim Güran, who was arrested on September 2. The procedures of the suspects at the gendarmerie are ongoing. It was stated that one of the 2 detained brothers, E.G. (18), who was previously detained and had a bite mark on his arm, was released after the examination at the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute revealed that the bite mark did not belong to Narin Güran. DIYARBAKIR PEOPLE ON THE STREETS FOR NARINThousands of citizens took to the streets in Diyarbakır for little Narin, whose lifeless body was found in the Eğertutmaz Stream after 19 days. The participants of the march chanted slogans such as "May the hands that reached Narin be broken. Narin is not dead, she lives in our hearts." 'SHE HAD A BAG, A HEADSCARF, AND SLIPPERS IN THE BAG'The autopsy procedures of Narin Güran, whose lifeless body was found 19 days after she went missing in the Bağlar district, are ongoing. Nahir Eren, the President of the Diyarbakır Bar Association, who came to the Forensic Medicine Institute, stated that the autopsy procedures have been going on for about 8 hours. He said, "As the Diyarbakır Bar Association, we have followed the investigation process in accordance with the principles of confidentiality. Today, we received the news that shook the country. There has been an autopsy procedure going on for about 8 hours. It started at 12:20 and is still ongoing. Of course, when it was reflected to the public, Narin was found buried in a bag, with stones placed on top of her. The bag and Narin's belongings, her headscarf, bag, and slippers were also in the bag. All of these are evidence and being examined." 'BODY DEFORMED'Eren stated that there were deformities on Narin's body during the time that passed and said, "The smallest samples were taken with great care. That is why the pre-evidence collection procedures took about 3 hours. The other autopsy procedures, which we call external autopsy, have been almost completed for about 2-5, 3 hours. 19 days have passed, and Narin's body was found after 19 days. At the moment, an initial report will be prepared, but it is difficult to say anything without the results of the pathological and biological examinations, research, and reports. Approximately 13-14 experts are working inside. I have been involved in the autopsy every minute. We need to wait for the results of these reports. According to the information we received from the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in the morning, due to the 19 days that have passed, it is known that her body has been deformed, and the determination of the cause of death depends on the results of the biological and pathological investigations. It is highly likely that the perpetrators are still at large. The sensitivity of the information should be taken into account by the public. Currently, there are 3 prosecutors on duty for this investigation. The detentions are not related to the evidence obtained through the autopsy procedures. We are waiting for the return of the reports." WHAT HAPPENED?On August 21, when Narin Güran, who went to a Quran course in Tavşantepe neighborhood of Bağlar district, did not return home after the course, her family searched for her on their own. When no results were obtained from the search, Narin's father, Arif Güran, reported her missing on the same day around 8:00 pm. Numerous search and rescue teams were dispatched to the area, and searches were conducted in the houses in the neighborhood and the vehicles entering the village. While the search operations were ongoing, E.G. (18), Narin Güran's brother, was detained as part of the investigation due to bite marks on his arm. After the examination at the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute failed to determine whether the bite marks belonged to Narin, E.G. was released. Then Narin's uncle, who is also the muhtar (village head) of Tavşantepe neighborhood, Salim Güran, was detained. Salim Güran, whose DNA samples taken from his vehicle matched the DNA samples from Narin's clothes, was arrested on charges of "intentional killing" and "deprivation of liberty."
