A police officer in the team responding to a fight report in Konya was stabbed in the back by a suspect who attacked with a knife. The suspect was neutralized by the police.

STABBED A POLICE OFFICER IN THE BACK

The incident occurred around 11:00 AM in the Buhara neighborhood of the central Selçuklu district on Bayramoğlu Street. According to the information obtained, a request was made for a medical team for a person experiencing a nervous breakdown. A police team was requested to apprehend the individual who allegedly attacked his family while holding a knife. While the police intervened with the assailant, the individual stabbed a police officer in the back.

NEUTRALIZED BY GUNFIRE

Upon this, the injured police officer's teammate shot the suspect to neutralize him. Following the report, a large number of medical and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured police officer was taken to Necmettin Erbakan University Medical Faculty Hospital by ambulance after the initial intervention by the medical teams that arrived at the scene. It was learned that the injured suspect was also taken to Konya City Hospital by ambulance. A comprehensive investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
