A police officer who shot his wife in Ankara and then attempted suicide with the same gun died in the hospital where he was taken.

The police housing located in the Baraj neighborhood of the Altındağ district in Ankara was shaken by a brutal incident last night. A dispute broke out between police officer Kenan Karadeniz, who works in the Sensitive Areas Protection Branch, and his wife Şükriye Karadeniz for an unknown reason.



FIRST HE MURDERED HIS WIFE, THEN ATTEMPTED SUICIDE



As the argument escalated, the police officer shot his wife dead with his gun and then attempted suicide with the same weapon. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon the neighbors' report of gunshots. Medical teams determined in their initial checks that Şükran Karadeniz had lost her life.



POLICE OFFICER DIED



Kenan Karadeniz, who shot himself, was taken to the hospital after the initial intervention of the medical teams. It was reported that the police officer died in the morning hours.



It was learned that the couple had 2 children.



48 WOMEN WERE KILLED JUST IN OCTOBER



As long as murderers do not receive deterrent sentences, violence continues to escalate and change its dimensions. According to the data from the We Will Stop Femicide Platform; in October alone, 48 women were killed, and 23 women were found dead under suspicious circumstances. The majority of the murdered women were killed by married men.
