The President's Chief Advisor on Foreign Policy and Security, Akif Çağatay Kılıç, met with U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State John Bass and his accompanying delegation.

Kılıç made a statement on his social media account after the meeting at the Presidential Complex. Kılıç stated, "In the meeting, we discussed the latest developments in Syria, the transition process, and the issues of joint struggle against terrorist organizations." He also expressed, "At the same time, we evaluated what can be done regarding the reconstruction of Syria, particularly concerning the needs for electricity and housing."
