After Muğlaspor, which finished the first half of the season in 4th place with 26 points, fell behind the top after being winless in their last 3 matches in the 3rd League Group 2, parted ways with sporting director Ozan Özkan, while it was revealed that there was a completely different bonus scandal behind the crisis in the team. PRESIDENT REQUESTED THE RETURN OF THE BONUSESAccording to allegations; before the match against 1954 Kelkit, which they lost 2-1 at the beginning of this month, president Menaf Kıyanç distributed bonuses to the players and coaching staff, insisting that they must win. The players made various payments with the bonuses received before the match, but despite taking a 1-0 lead, they lost the match. Following this, President Kıyanç requested the team to return the bonuses. SPORTING DIRECTOR WAS DISMISSEDAfter the uncertainty and deadlock, sporting director Ozan Özkan parted ways with the club. In a recent announcement made on Muğlaspor Club's social media account, it was stated that the paths with sporting director Ozan Özkan were mutually separated. Tolga Tağ was appointed in place of Özkan. "THERE WAS NO MUTUAL AGREEMENT, I WAS DISMISSED"Ozan Özkan objected to this statement, claiming that the separation process occurred differently. Stating that he was dismissed from his position, Özkan said, "I am making this statement because it was expressed in the announcement made by our club that I parted ways by mutual agreement; I would like to state that I was verbally informed of my dismissal by our President Mr. Menaf Kıyanç. When I asked for the reason, his failure to provide a concrete reason deeply saddened me as someone who has contributed to our Muğla sports for many years, and it is unfortunate that the separation did not happen in a more dignified manner." In his statement, Özkan described the work he has done since he took office, saying, "I would like to emphasize that during the transfer period last year, which we finished with a championship, I meticulously carried out the transfers of coaches and player brothers with the authority given to me by our president as a result of intense work. I took 7 players from our youth team into the A team squad and took pride in having 3 youth players directly in the starting 11 in the season we became champions. I would like to mention that our goalkeeper Akıl brother has been watched by officials from the youth national team and many Super League teams. During my time in office, we also included many young footballer brothers who will shape the future of our club into our team. By making intense efforts with my personal network, I experienced the happiness of bringing my valuable brother Savaş Yılmaz, who has played in many professional football clubs, especially in the Super League, and has been a national player, to our club while he was continuing his football career in the 2nd League. Throughout this process, being successful or unsuccessful was entirely my responsibility," he said. "I SUGGESTED NAMES, THEY DID NOT ACCEPT"Özkan, stating that there was a need for a forward player and that he suggested many names that were not accepted, said, "A 5-person transfer committee was formed for our 3rd League transfer period, which we started with excitement at the beginning of the season. All these transfers were made after passing through the approval of the transfer committee. I repeatedly and insistently communicated to the transfer committee and our club president that our team needed a forward player as a result of the preparation matches in the pre-season training camp. Despite my suggestions of many names, unfortunately, they were not accepted. The inadequacy of our team in the attacking area is acknowledged by everyone as a result of the first half matches played," he stated. "THE TRUTH TELLER IS EXILED FROM NINE VILLAGES"Özkan, who claimed that the management constantly intervened with the coach and players, continued his statement as follows; "In my first year as Sporting Director, we experienced a championship, and despite the facility and stadium problems in the second year, we finished the first half only 3 points behind the league leader. My dismissal, as I mentioned, has nothing to do with sporting failure. It is entirely due to the managerial mistakes that harm the football team made in our club, the constant intervention in the coach and players, and finally the untimely payment of bonuses before the Kelkit match and many other negative behaviors. My resistance to these events, my efforts to prevent them, and my indication to the president and managers that they harm the team have completely disturbed them. The proverb 'the truth teller is exiled from nine villages' fits this issue perfectly. Finally, the efforts I made for our team during my short 1.5 years in office are evident. The championship that our team will achieve at the end of the season will honor me the most."
