The price of anchovies has surpassed that of mackerel: The pearl of the Black Sea is being sold for 200 TL.

In the ongoing fishing season, in addition to mackerel, the sea's pearl, anchovy, has also started to appear on the stalls in Rize. The anchovy, which is the pearl of the Black Sea and more easily accessible to low-budget families, has this time burned the pockets compared to mackerel prices.

MACKEREL 100; ANCHOVY 200 TL

While a piece of mackerel is sold for 100 TL, due to the low catch of anchovy, it is sold for 200 TL per kilogram. Fishmonger Murat Kurt, who stated that the kilogram of anchovy has hit the stall at 200 TL, pointed out that the prices of mackerel remain reasonable, saying, "The price of anchovy is 200 TL per kilogram. All of our fish and seafood are rich in vitamins. Vitamins A, B, C, D, E, F, G, all are present. When you eat fish, you get all the vitamins. Prices are currently normal. For mackerel, the price for one kilogram is 100 TL, and for 600 grams, it is 75 TL. The prices are normal, meaning reasonable. One fish weighs 1 kilogram," he stated.
