The price of gasoline was quietly increased by 1 lira and 25 kuruş at midnight.

With the new year, a 6% Special Consumption Tax (SCT) increase has come into effect for fuel, and there has been another price increase for gasoline. Accordingly, there was a price increase of 1.25 TL in the gasoline group. There was no price change in the diesel group.

INCREASED BY 7.60% IN A YEAR

With the new increase, the price of gasoline in Istanbul has reached 45.30 TL per liter. Gasoline prices have risen to 46.14 TL in Izmir and 45.68 TL in Ankara. Following this increase, the price of gasoline has risen by 7.60% in the last month.

HOW ARE FUEL PRICES CALCULATED?

Fuel prices are calculated by refineries based on the average prices of refined products in the Mediterranean market, which includes Turkey, and changes in the dollar exchange rate. As a result of this calculation, the prices applied by distribution companies may show slight variations due to competition and freedom among companies and cities.

EPGIS HAD DECIDED NOT TO ANNOUNCE PRICE CHANGES

After the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) filed a complaint against EPGIS, the only union that announces price changes, the union stated that it would not share fuel price changes with the public until the legal process is concluded.
