Şakir Demir (38), who resides in the rural Yeniceköy neighborhood of İnegöl district in Bursa, started eating raw meatballs at home. As the raw meatball got stuck in his trachea, Demir collapsed to the ground, unable to breathe.

HE WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL AFTER CPR

His family, who found Demir lying motionless on the ground, reported the incident to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Health teams performed CPR on the man whose heart had stopped and took him to İnegöl State Hospital. As a result of the intervention at the hospital, Demir's heart was restarted.

HE PASSED AWAY 13 HOURS LATER

Demir, whose health condition was critical, was placed in intensive care. Despite all interventions, Şakir Demir passed away 13 hours later. The gendarmerie has launched an investigation into the incident.
