The IMEI registration, which is necessary for the use of mobile phones brought from abroad in Turkey, is an important process both for phone owners and for allowing the legal use of the device. So, how much will the IMEI registration fee be in 2025? Here are the details!

With the announcement made by the Revenue Administration of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, the revaluation rate for the year 2024 has been determined as 43.93%. With the announcement of this rate under the Tax Procedure Law, an increase in tax, fee, and penalty amounts is anticipated. The revaluation rate was previously announced as 58.46% for the year 2024.

In various laws related to taxes and fees, it is anticipated that the amounts of taxes, fees, and penalties will increase each year by the revaluation rate. According to the laws, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has the authority to increase or decrease the revaluation rate by 50%. If the President does not exercise this authority and the amounts are determined according to the announced rate, the IMEI registration fee that will be applied for mobile phones brought from abroad to Turkey in 2025 will also be clarified.

The fee to register the IMEI of mobile phones brought from abroad has increased from 31,692 TL to 45,614 TL.

WHAT IS IMEI?

IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) registration is a legal process required for mobile phones brought from abroad to be used in Turkey. The IMEI number is a 15-digit code unique to each mobile phone that identifies the device. This number is assigned to a phone during the production phase and is uniquely identified for each phone worldwide. In Turkey, it is mandatory to register this number for mobile phones brought from abroad to be used within the country.
