An retired non-commissioned officer in Gölcük district of Kocaeli shot and killed his wife with a gun before committing suicide with the same weapon. After the incident, the police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene and it was determined that the couple had lost their lives.

The incident took place on the 3rd floor of a 5-story building on Cumhuriyet Street in Değirmendere Central Neighborhood. According to the information obtained, 71-year-old retired non-commissioned officer E.C., who resides in a site in Değirmendere Central Neighborhood, fired a gun at his 67-year-old wife D.C. for unknown reasons. Neighbors who heard the sound informed the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Health teams, who arrived at the scene in a short time, took the couple to the hospital, but they could not be saved and lost their lives. After the examination of the crime scene, the bodies were taken to the morgue of Kocaeli State Hospital.
