The increase rate for retirement pensions valid for the first 6 months of 2025 has been determined at 15.75%. Thus, the lowest retirement pension has risen to 14,469 TL. This increase has also directly affected the pensions of widows and orphans. HOW IS THE WIDOW AND ORPHAN PENSION CALCULATED?The pensions for widows and orphans are calculated based on the deceased person's salary. After the death of one spouse, the surviving person is referred to as the widow, and the children are referred to as orphans. The pension paid to widows and orphans is calculated according to the share distribution. For example, if only the spouse is alive and this person is not working in any insured job, they receive 75% of the deceased spouse's salary; if they are working, they receive 50% of it. HOW IS THE PENSION GRANTED TO CHILDREN?The pension for the remaining children of the deceased person is granted based on 25%. In the case of 3 children, the entire pension is divided among them. If the retiree dies single and does not leave any legal heirs as children, then the pension can be granted to the parents. For 2025, the widow and orphan pensions will also be applied at the same increase rate of 15.75% based on this share calculation. HOW MUCH PENSION WILL WIDOWS AND ORPHANS RECEIVE IN 2025?If the spouse is not working and there are no children: The spouse of a deceased person with a pension of 14,469 TL will receive a widow's pension of 75% of the salary, which is 10,851 TL. If the spouse is working: 50% of the salary will be granted, and the person will receive a pension of 7,234.50 TL. For children: A child with a 25% share will receive an orphan's pension of 3,617.25 TL.
