In Bursa, Ergin Kaya Kırbıyık, who was suspended after breaking into the office of the female director by kicking the door, was awarded the 'excellence' award by the Ministry of National Education.

During a meeting with parents in Bursa, the principal of Mahmut Celalettin Ökten Imam Hatip Middle School, Ergin Kaya Kırbıyık, drew reactions with his statement, "Everyone needs to cover their heads. We will intervene with students who wear shorts or do not cover their heads." Subsequently, footage emerged of him breaking into the office of his female assistant. Kırbıyık has now come to the forefront again with the 'Outstanding Achievement' award he received.

OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR THE SUSPENDED PRINCIPAL

The Bursa Provincial Directorate of National Education announced that 719 individuals were awarded the outstanding achievement award in 2024. The suspended school principal, Ergin Kaya Kırbıyık, was among the recipients. Serkan Bebek, a member of the Central Executive Board of the Turkish Teachers' Union (TÖB SEN), made a written statement expressing his reaction to this situation. Bebek stated, "One of the biggest problems in education, the principle of meritocracy, has unfortunately been ignored for years. Of the 7,576 people awarded in 2019, 5,169 were members of a supportive union. By 2023, this rate has reached 80%." Bebek reacted to the 'Outstanding Achievement' award given to Kırbıyık, saying: After stating in the parent meeting, 'I will intervene with both the student with an open head and the student wearing shorts,' Kırbıyık, who was subjected to an investigation and was suspended after breaking down the door of his assistant, was rewarded with a salary.
