Princess Mahrah Al Nahyan (32) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), who was found unconscious in the middle of the street next to her 3-year-old child after using an excessive amount of cocaine in London, the capital of England, pleaded guilty in the case tried at Southwark Crown Court. The court reached a decision regarding the princess, a member of the UAE royal family.
PASSERSBY TOOK CARE OF THE 3-YEAR-OLD CHILD
In the incident that occurred on June 13, passersby took care of her 3-year-old child, who was standing barefoot at the side of a busy road next to the princess, who had been unconscious for about 30 minutes under the influence of drugs. When she regained consciousness, Al Nahyan reacted to those around her by saying, "This is not a slaughterhouse, why do you care so much?", and drug paraphernalia was found in her bags.
REHABILITATION REQUIREMENT AND FINE
Judge Johnson KC, the judge in the case, announced the ruling, stating that without the intervention of strangers, the child would have faced the risk of serious harm or abduction. The court gave Princess Mahrah Al Nahyan a 2-year probation order including a rehabilitation requirement and a fine of 6,114 pounds. It was reported that the princess's drug addiction treatment is continuing.
