In the incident that occurred in Ahi Toman Baba Street, Hüseyin Avni Ulaş Neighborhood, Palandöken district of Erzurum; Emre Kara (6), a first-grade student at Başöğretmen Primary School, was severely injured after being run over by the service vehicle that was bringing him home after school. The moment of the accident was recorded by security cameras in real-time.

In the footage, it can be seen that little Emre, after getting off the service, moved towards the front of the vehicle, trying to go to the site where his home is located, and was suddenly crushed under the tire of the moving service vehicle, and then dragged for meters under the vehicle. The footage shows that the service driver, Bekir Aydın (62), who was moving with the vehicle for a while, noticed the incident, stopped the vehicle, went to the injured Emre Kara, and carried the child towards the site gate. Health officials who arrived at the scene upon the notification of nearby citizens took the injured child to the emergency department of Erzurum City Hospital after the first intervention.

The father of Emre Kara, Abdurrahman Kara, who is still fighting for his life in intensive care, stated that his child was run over due to the negligence and haste of the service driver, saying, "The driver who ran over my child wants to leave him in front of the site gate. There are eyewitnesses. The service driver who called me is trying to make it look like my child fell from the balcony. If it weren't for the security cameras, we might be helpless and unable to prove that our child was run over. I want my baby to return to us as soon as possible and for those who were negligent in the incident to be punished," he said.

"HE WAS BLEEDING FROM HIS MOUTH"

Oğuzhan Coşkun, one of the witnesses of the incident, also stated that they noticed the service driver's shouting after the accident, saying, "We immediately went to the child with my friends. As far as we know, we provided first aid. He was bleeding from his mouth. We called an ambulance, and they took the child to the hospital," he said.

It was learned that the service driver Bekir Aydın, who was taken into custody after the incident, was released under judicial control.
