A 25-year-old stepbrother, H.K., who is accused of torturing four young children in Diyarbakır by feeding them animal feces, has been released under judicial control. The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has appealed the decision to impose judicial control on the suspect. The Ministry of Family and Social Services has taken the children into state protection.
The investigation initiated by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the reports and news on some social media accounts and press outlets stating that "four children in Diyarbakır were fed animal feces" is ongoing. As part of the investigation, the children's 25-year-old brother, H.A., was detained on charges of "ill-treatment." H.A. was referred to the courthouse after the procedures at the gendarmerie.

After his interrogation at the prosecutor's office, H.A., who was referred to the peace criminal court with a request for arrest on the charge of "torture," was released under judicial control measures. In a statement regarding the incident, the Ministry of Family and Social Services announced that the children allegedly fed feces in Diyarbakır have been placed under state protection. The statement included, "The children who are the subject of the news and social media posts have been placed under state protection. A criminal complaint has been filed by our ministry against the relevant individuals. As a ministry, we will closely follow the legal process and intervene in the case that will be opened. Additionally, an investigation has been initiated by our Guidance and Inspection Directorate regarding the personnel found negligent in relation to this report received by our ministry's call center," it was stated.
