In Avcılar, after an elderly citizen began to moan, neighbors called for medical teams. The son, who was reluctantly convinced to come to the scene, insulted his father by saying, "Drown in your own filth. I'm leaving you here to die now."
Mehmet Hulusi A. (70), who lives with his son in Avcılar, was reported by neighbors after his shouting was heard. Firefighters who arrived at the house reached Mehmet Hulusi A. by entering through the window. The teams spoke on the phone with Mehmet Hulusi A.'s son, Burak A., who was understood to have left the house 2 hours earlier. After a while, Burak A. arrived in front of the house, reacting to the teams and arguing with his neighbors. Burak A., who was learned to be a diabetic, insulted and shouted at his father through the window before leaving the street without entering the house.
The incident occurred on Sunday, June 15, during Father's Day, in the evening hours in the Gümüşpala neighborhood. Neighbors took action after hearing the moaning sounds of Mehmet Hulusi A., who lives with his son in the ground floor apartment of the building. Upon the report, police, firefighters, and medical teams arrived at the scene. The teams first checked Mehmet Hulusi A., who was lying on the bed by the window in the ground floor apartment. The teams asked the elderly man, who was determined to be unable to get out of bed, to call his son. Mehmet Hulusi A. spoke with his son on his mobile phone for a while. Later, a firefighter, who took the phone from the elderly man with the help of a device, faced the reactions of the elderly man's son, Burak A.
'WHO CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT?' HE REACTED Burak A. harshly confronted the firefighter he spoke to on the phone, saying, "There is no situation that requires the fire department or ambulance. I was with him 2 hours ago, I washed him, changed his diaper, I did everything. Who is calling the fire department?" The firefighter explained to Burak A., "Sir, your father is moaning and shouting, and all your neighbors are worried. Your neighbors haven't done anything wrong. The sound is coming here, all your neighbors are here, and the police are here too." Burak A., who said his father was diabetic, also spoke with the medical team for a while, asking, "We can no longer take care of him. Can we place him somewhere? What does it mean for me to come there?"
"I WASHED AND CLEANED HIM BECAUSE IT'S FATHER'S DAY" Later, the police officer who took the phone spoke to Burak A., saying, "You are his son, don't escalate the situation. Three institutions have come here. They are concerned about your father's health. The report was made because your neighbors were worried about your father's life." In response, the elderly man's son, Burak A., snapped at the police officer, "Sir, don't speak without knowing. Okay, I'm coming there, hang up." Burak A. then continued to argue with the teams waiting in front of the apartment. Burak A. shouted at a neighbor, "I washed and cleaned him because it's Father's Day. Are you giving me advice?" After a neighbor woman said, "Give me your phone number so we can call you," Burak A. became even angrier and replied, "If you can say these things, why don't you just tell me, 'Your father has a phone, call your son'?" A woman who is a neighbor of the family reacted to Burak A., saying, "You have no authority to shout at me." Burak A. then told the neighbor he was arguing with, "Okay, I'm sorry, I apologize to you."
"I'M LEAVING YOU HERE TO DIE" After the argument, Burak A., who insulted and shouted at his father through the window, yelled, "Don't disturb anyone inside this house. Who is not answering the phone? You have become a strange creature. I'm leaving you here to die." Burak A., who did not enter the apartment, then left the street with his companions. The health, police, and fire teams who arrived at the scene upon the report also left the scene without intervening with the elderly man. It was learned that Mehmet Hulusi A. was diabetic.
