In the coming years, it is planned to increase the number of electric vehicles in Turkey to 4.2 million and the number of charging stations to 347,000. The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change is preparing to update the Planned Areas Zoning Regulation to respond to this increase. With the update, the electrical installation required for the installation of charging units in site and apartment parking lots will no longer be subject to a permit. With this change, an annual energy saving of approximately 320 million kilowatt-hours, a reduction of 27 million kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent greenhouse gases, and a saving of 405 million TL are planned.
PERMIT REQUIREMENT WILL BE REMOVED
According to Turkey's 2035 strategy, the number of electric vehicles will be increased to 4.2 million, and the number of charging stations will be increased to 347,000. The goal is to reach a local production rate of 75%. According to a report by Yeni Şafak, an update will be made to the relevant regulation in line with this goal. The electrical installation required for the installation of electric vehicle charging units in the common parking areas of sites and apartments will not be subject to a permit. It will be mandatory to submit the application projects related to these installations along with a declaration that the responsible person has undertaken them, to comply with the architectural appearances in the building's project, and to obtain permission from the administration. Solar energy systems to be installed for the needs of buildings will also be evaluated within this scope.
CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENT FOR PUBLIC BUILDINGS
With the change, obtaining a green certificate will be mandatory for public health, education, and service buildings with an area of 10,000 square meters or more. In this context, the installation of rainwater and gray water systems will be mandatory in certain sizes and types of public and private buildings. The rainwater collection system will be located in the garden or underground in the garden area.
HEALTH AND EDUCATION EXCLUDED
Rainwater collection systems will be mandatory in public buildings larger than 2,000 square meters, provided that the storage volume is over 5 cubic meters, while gray water collection systems will be mandatory in dormitories with more than 200 beds, shopping malls larger than 10,000 square meters, and public buildings larger than 30,000 square meters. Gray water systems will not be mandatory in health and education buildings.
