According to local news reports, tanks and hooded soldiers evacuated civilians in Plaza Murillo Square in the capital and cordoned off the area. The reports claimed that senior commanders of the Bolivian army threatened to take over the government. In news shared on social media, it was stated that military units were deployed around the General Staff Headquarters. General Juan Jose Zuniga said, "A new cabinet of ministers will be formed, of course, some things will change, but our country cannot continue like this anymore."
