The striking response from mother Yüksel Güran to the question "Did Nevzat kill Narin?": Isn't it obvious?

After 19 days of being missing in the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır, the lifeless body of 8-year-old Narin Güran was found in a stream bed, and the first hearing in the investigation into her murder has begun. The detained mother, Yüksel Güran, gave her statement in court for the first time.

MOTHER YÜKSEL GÜRAN IN COURT FOR THE FIRST TIME

Yüksel Güran, who claims she did not kill Narin, stated regarding her uncle Salim Güran, "I never thought of it," and accused the informant Nevzat Bahtiyar of being the murderer.

• Presiding Judge: According to the statement of Nevzat Bahtiyar's wife, you went and said, 'whoever took my daughter, at least let there be a grave' around 19:00 in the evening. Is that correct?

• Yüksel Güran: No, that is not correct. The thought of Narin being missing never crossed our minds. I didn't know she hadn't gone there at noon. I didn't think Narin had gone anywhere after the mosque. I called Hediye, and she said the girls hadn't arrived yet. I thought of her aunt, and I knocked on her door. I was very scared because of the construction at the mosque, wondering if she hit her head somewhere. Later, when they said they saw Narin around 18:00 in the evening, I felt relieved. We started searching everywhere. Nevzat's wife also started looking for Narin with me. The whole village was searching for Narin. Then I don't know who called the gendarmerie. Then our world collapsed.
