A shocking news has come to Alanyaspor, one of the teams in the Trendyol Super League. The 32-year-old South Korean national football player Hwang Ui-Jo, who plays for the Mediterranean team, is facing a prison sentence.

4 YEARS IN PRISON REQUESTED

According to a report from the French press L'Equippe; during the hearing at the Seoul Central District Court, the prosecution requested a four-year prison sentence for Hwang Ui-Jo for violating the law regarding the suppression of sexual offenses.

SECRETLY RECORDED HIS SEXUAL RELATIONS

Hwang, who played for Bordeaux between 2019-2022 and is currently playing for Alanyaspor, is accused of recording videos while having sex with two partners without their consent four times between June and September 2022. Following these incidents, Hwang was also banned from the national team.

ACCEPTED ALL CHARGES

According to his lawyer, the 32-year-old football player, who accepted all charges, later filed a complaint against his brother-in-law. However, police investigations revealed that the videos were recorded illegally. In a statement made by the prosecution to the press, it was stated, "One of the victims refused to negotiate and demanded a heavy penalty. Hwang may have accepted the charges now, but his previous denials raise doubts about whether he is truly remorseful."

The illegal content was shared on Instagram by Hwang's brother-in-law Lee in June last year. In September, Lee was sentenced to 3 years in prison by the Supreme Court.
