In Fatih, Istanbul, a 27-year-old man held his mother hostage at home and then harmed himself in the apartment entrance. When police teams arriving at the scene upon the report failed to persuade him, Special Operations police conducted a raid on the apartment. The injured suspect was taken to the hospital, while his mother, who was in good health, was brought to the police station.
Last night, following a report that a person had taken his mother hostage in the Ayvansaray neighborhood of Istanbul's Fatih district, police teams took action.
TOOK HIS MOTHER HOSTAGE, INJURED HIMSELF
Police officers who arrived at the house determined that 27-year-old B.E. had taken his mother Ç.E. hostage and had injured himself in front of the apartment door.
SPECIAL OPERATION POLICE STEPPED IN
As B.E. did not respond to the persuasion efforts, police teams began preparations for an operation. Special operation police entered the apartment and captured the suspect.
TAKEN TO HOSPITAL
The suspect, who was found to have injured himself in various parts of his body, was taken to Istanbul Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşcıoğlu City Hospital for treatment. The mother, whose health condition is good, was taken to the police station to give her statement.
