Following this, the family claimed that their child had been subjected to violence and went to the hospital to obtain a report of the assault, filing a complaint against the teacher. Security camera footage from the examined kindergarten revealed that Betül K. slapped M.D.Ö.

The assault on M.D.Ö., who developed redness on his face, was captured second by second on the security camera. The footage showed teacher Betül K. slapping the baby and then trying to cover him with a blanket to make him sleep.

"I REALIZED WHEN THE TEACHER CALLED ME"

M.D.Ö.'s mother, Lawyer Gündoğdu Özer, stated that they realized the incident when teacher Betül K. called them, and they noticed the redness on their child's face when her husband picked him up from the kindergarten. Özer explained that they spoke with the kindergarten officials, but they did not accept the violence incident, and upon this, they went to the hospital to obtain a report of the assault, which stated that the redness on the face was caused by an external impact. Özer mentioned that they filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office, saying, "I realized the incident when the kindergarten teacher called me last Tuesday. She said that he had slept on his cheek and that there were marks and swelling on his cheek due to sleeping. I asked her to send a photo, but the photo she sent was not satisfactory. I explained the situation to my husband, and he went to pick up the child from the kindergarten. My husband sent me a photo of the child. In the photos, I saw fingerprints on his left cheek. We became suspicious. We wanted to contact them. They absolutely did not accept the violence incident. Upon this, we went to the hospital and obtained a report of the assault from the doctor there. I also asked the doctor there, and he said that the bruise was caused by an external impact," she said.

"I LEARNED THAT MANY PARENTS WERE VICTIMS"

After this development, Özer stated that she spoke with the kindergarten administrators again, saying, "Initially, the kindergarten officials told me that I was exaggerating the incident. I wanted to watch the sleep moment footage. When I watched the footage, my child was sleeping on his right cheek, and the teacher was waiting by the child's head. My child was sleeping on his right cheek, and the cheek that received the impact was the left cheek. How is this possible? They could not explain. They said they had a communication problem. I asked for all the footage. I watched all the footage. In the footage, the kindergarten teacher was clearly mistreating the children. I filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office, and the footage was identified and examined. I will pursue this matter to the end. They will not get away with this. We are working parents, and we have to leave our children somewhere. We thought it was a reliable kindergarten, so we enrolled our child there. This kind of treatment has been done. She slaps a sleeping baby with her five fingers and then tries to put the child back to sleep as if nothing happened. I learned that many parents have been victimized by this situation," she said.

KINDERGARTEN: THE TEACHER'S EMPLOYMENT HAS BEEN TERMINATED

On the other hand, the kindergarten officials made a statement on their social media account. In the statement, they expressed their sadness over the incident and stated that they contributed to revealing the truth. It was stated in the announcement that when the identification work was completed, the employment of the relevant teacher with the institution was terminated.

"It is unacceptable to condone the inhumane behavior mentioned in the posts. Our institution has taken and will continue to take measures to ensure that such behaviors never occur, including placing cameras throughout the institution to leave no blind spots, as well as training, raising awareness, and warning all teachers and staff providing care services. Additionally, we regret to state that despite all the care and attention shown by our institution, unfortunately, it has been determined through camera recordings that a teacher has subjected one of our children to violence by slapping them. The fact that we have not received any complaints about the same teacher, who has worked in the institution for two years, and that there has been no observed tendency towards violence, despite expressions of satisfaction regarding her, has led us to the conclusion that the allegations should be investigated properly and a decision should be made accordingly. In this context, all camera recordings have been reviewed by the institution's management, provided to the relevant parent, and submitted to the police for necessary legal investigations. This matter has been sincerely pursued, and contributions have been made to reveal the truth. It has been stated from the beginning to the relevant parent that all legal requirements will be fulfilled regarding the teacher or any other relevant person if the truth is revealed. Meanwhile, when the identification work is completed, the employment of the relevant teacher with the institution has been terminated."
