After heavy rain, a tornado hit the Malkara district of Tekirdağ. Hasan Akçay, the campsite operator who experienced the horror in the natural disaster that destroyed the facility serving as a camping area, said, "I survived with 5 minutes."

TORNADO DESTROYED THE CAMP AREA

The incident occurred in Elmalı Neighborhood. As the evening rain intensified, a severe storm occurred. The tornado that occurred in the private camp area located in the Kartal tepe area damaged 3 gazebos, a 24-square-meter tent, 6 solar panels, and electric poles.

"DAMAGE AMOUNTS TO 1 MILLION TL"

After the tornado and heavy rain lost their effect, the extent of the damage also emerged. It was learned that approximately 1 million TL worth of damage occurred.

"I SURVIVED WITH 5 MINUTES"

In his statement, campsite operator Hasan Akçay said, "I was inside a 24-square-meter tent. I went towards the house when my wife called me. When I arrived home, a great disaster had occurred. God protected us. I survived with 5 minutes. When I looked out of the window, I saw the tent I was in 5 minutes ago and then the gazebo flying away," he said.

"I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH A DISASTER UNTIL THIS AGE"

Akçay, who experienced great fear with his wife, said, "I have never seen such a disaster in our area until this age. I realized the magnitude when I went outside after the disaster. The roof of the tent, gazebo, and dishwashing area flew to the strawberry field. We have a damage of about 1 million TL. Everything is ruined, but I am grateful that I was not inside the tent," he said.
