The tragedy ended happily: The firefighter married the woman he rescued from the earthquake wreckage.

The personnel of Ankara Fire Department, Cebrail Sarsılmaz, and Sinem Kaynak, whom he rescued from under the rubble during the February 6th Earthquake, have united their lives. This happy union after a tragedy has brought smiles to the faces of those who see and hear about it.

This special ceremony took place at the Âşık Veysel Wedding Hall, witnessed by Fire Department Chairman Ali Levent Çeri and Search and Rescue Branch Director Hüseyin Turan.

"WE REACHED A HAPPY ENDING FROM A TRAGIC EVENT"

Sarsılmaz, the firefighter, who said he was excited for himself and his wife due to the happy ending from a tragic event, stated, "I served in search and rescue for 13 days during the February 6th earthquake. We rescued my wife and her sister alive from Müjde Apartment in Kahramanmaraş. It's a different and indescribable feeling. We reached a happy ending from a tragic event."

Sinem Kaynak expressed her feelings, saying, "Although we came together as a result of a negative event, we were lucky few who were rescued from the rubble. Afterwards, life united us. There is a bittersweet sadness within us. We are sad for both our own losses and the losses of others, but life goes on, and we are happy."
