According to the news from the Israeli Army Radio, the reason for the raid was to eliminate a Hamas cell located in the hospital. It was reported that there were injured individuals in the hospital. The fate of the arrested doctors is unknown. The Turkish Hospital, which opened in 2013, provided healthcare services to thousands of people in the region.

In 2023, when the attacks on Palestine began, the Israeli army had also carried out an attack on the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital, the only hospital for cancer patients in the Gaza Strip.
