THE MINISTRY SPOKESPERSON HAD SIGNALLED
U.S. State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce stated in a press conference on Thursday that they are working intensively to lift sanctions against Syria, saying, "Without giving a specific date, I can say that this will be done quickly and definitely faster than we are used to."
TRUMP ANNOUNCED IN RIYADH
The first announcement regarding the lifting of sanctions came from U.S. President Donald Trump. Speaking at an investment forum in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, during his visit to Gulf countries, Trump stated, "I will instruct that all sanctions against Syria be lifted to give them a chance to elevate."
