The United Nations Security Council strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TUSAŞ). The Council emphasized that those responsible for the attack, as well as its financiers and supporters, must be held accountable.

WRITTEN STATEMENT FROM THE UN SECURITY COUNCIL



The 15-member UN Security Council issued a written statement regarding the terrorist attack on TUSAŞ's Kahramankazan campus. The statement noted that the members of the UN Security Council expressed their condolences to the families and relatives of the deceased, the Turkish people, and the government, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.



"THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTACK, FINANCIERS, AND ORGANIZERS MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE"



The statement said, "The members of the UN Security Council express that all forms and manifestations of terrorism pose the most serious threat to international peace and security." It was reported that the terrorist attack on TUSAŞ was condemned in the strongest terms, and that those responsible for the attack, its financiers, and supporters must be held accountable. The statement emphasized that those responsible, financiers, supporters, and organizers of the attack must be brought to justice, calling on all member states to cooperate effectively with the Turkish government in this framework in accordance with international law and UN Security Council resolutions.



The statement emphasized that all forms of terrorist activities are crimes and have no legitimacy, noting that it is important who, where, and for what purpose they are carried out. It was stated that all member states must combat terrorism in accordance with the UN Charter and the rules of international law, international human rights law, and international humanitarian law.



TERRORIST ATTACK ON TUSAŞ



In the terrorist attack on the facilities of the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) in Kahramankazan, 5 people were martyred, and 22 were injured. Interior Minister Yerlikaya, who made a statement regarding the attack, announced that the two terrorists neutralized in the treacherous attack on TUSAŞ were also members of the PKK. Minister Yerlikaya stated, "We are determined to root out the treacherous terrorist organization that aims to undermine the unity and peace of our country." While investigations regarding the attack continue, the MIT and the Turkish Armed Forces also struck terrorist targets. In the air operation conducted in northern Iraq and Syria, 47 terrorist targets, including responsible-level terrorists, were destroyed, and 59 terrorists, including 2 so-called high-ranking ones, were neutralized.
