The US announced that it struck more than 80 military targets in Iran in retaliation for attacks on commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Following the operation, Tehran issued a series of strong statements, with Iran's Revolutionary Guard warning that the US attacks will not go unanswered, threatening Washington with an "overwhelming response."

Tensions have risen again following the recent ceasefire between the US and Iran. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that operations conducted in retaliation for Iran's attacks on commercial vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz have been completed, with over 80 Iranian military targets struck.

In a statement by CENTCOM, it was noted that a comprehensive operation was carried out against Iran's attacks threatening international trade. The statement said, "US forces targeted Iran's air defense systems, command and control bases, coastal radar facilities, anti-ship missile capabilities, and more than 60 Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps boats located in and around the Strait of Hormuz, aiming to degrade Iran's ability to attack commercial vessels transiting the international trade corridor."

"CLEAR VIOLATION OF CEASEFIRE"

CENTCOM stated that Iran targeted the Marshall Islands-flagged M/T Al Rekayyat, the Saudi Arabia-flagged M/T Wedyan, and the Liberia-flagged M/T Cyprus Prosperity.

The statement said, "This unjust aggression by Iranian forces is a clear and dangerous violation of the ceasefire and undermines freedom of navigation." The US military also emphasized its readiness to take further steps if Iran fails to comply with agreements.

IRAN ISSUES CONSECUTIVE STRONG MESSAGES

Following the US attacks, strong statements also came from the Iranian administration. Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, in a post on his social media account, argued that the Washington administration has violated the agreement reached with Iran in many areas.

Ghalibaf listed the violations as non-compliance with Iranian regulations in the Strait of Hormuz, new threats of attack, reimposition of oil sanctions, attacks on southern Iran, and Israeli operations against Lebanon.

Stating that Tehran will not remain silent on these developments, Ghalibaf said, "The era of bullying and blackmail is over. This path leads nowhere. We will not surrender."

"A CRUSHING RESPONSE WILL BE GIVEN"

The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, affiliated with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, also described the latest US attacks as "a clear act of aggression."

In a statement, it was noted that the US attacks would not go unanswered, saying, "A crushing response will be given to the US's aggressive actions."

The statement also emphasized that Iran will not allow any foreign intervention regarding the management of the Strait of Hormuz, adding that the safe route for commercial vessels and oil tankers is only the route designated by Iran.
