The verdict has been reached in the "desired piece" murder case in Istanbul! The judge did not reduce the sentence.

The person who stabbed and killed musician Cihan Aymaz in Kadıköy, Istanbul, for not playing the song he wanted, has been sentenced to life imprisonment in the trial.

On May 2, 2023, Mehmet Caymaz, 30, approached Cihan Aymaz in Kadıköy and requested a folk song. When Aymaz refused, an argument broke out between the two. Mehmet Caymaz, 33, stabbed Cihan Aymaz in the chest with a knife, causing his death.

The trial of the detained defendant Mehmet Caymaz continued. The trial was attended by the detained defendant Mehmet Caymaz, the plaintiffs, and the lawyers of the parties. The defendant Mehmet Caymaz said in his final words that he regretted his actions.

SENTENCED TO LIFE IMPRISONMENT

The lawyer for the plaintiff requested the defendant to be punished severely to prevent such murders from happening again, stating that there have been previous cases of musician murders. The court sentenced the defendant Mehmet Caymaz to life imprisonment for the crime of "intentional murder" without any reduction in the sentence.
