The sit-in protest initiated by families claiming their children were kidnapped by the terrorist organization PKK and wanting to reunite with them has been ongoing in front of the former HDP Provincial Presidency building since September 3, 2019. So far, 56 of the 379 families who participated in the sit-in protest with the hope of reuniting with their children have met with their children. "WE WILL NOT GIVE OUR CHILDREN TO THOSE TYRANTS AND KILLERS"Ayten Elhaman, one of the families sitting in front of the HDP building for six years, stated, "We want all the children to come. They should no longer go to the mountains and stones; our children should come. We will take our children with the strength of our state. We will not leave our children to those tyrants and killers. I call out to the children from here, run away and come." she said. "WE WILL NOT GIVE OUR CHILDREN TO HDP OR PKK"Nazlı Sancar claimed that her 13-year-old daughter named Şeyma was kidnapped with her hands and arms tied in 2012. Sancar, who stated that she has been continuing the protest for years to reunite with her child, said, "We only want our children, which is our right. If my daughter Şeyma hears or sees me, I am waiting for you here with longing and desire. I wanted to dress you in a wedding gown. I do not want to dress you in a shroud. We are eagerly waiting for our children. We will not leave our children to HDP or PKK. We will not leave this killer's door either. I come to Diyarbakır from Van occasionally. I will stand tall against this enemy, I will not bow my head." she expressed.
