The volcano located near the town of Grindavik on Iceland's Reykjanes Peninsula has become active again. According to the Icelandic Meteorological Office (IMO), an explosion occurred at the volcano around 23:14 local time. This is the 7th eruption of the volcano since December, which has spewed lava and ash. The length of the crack formed as a result of the explosion in the Sundhnukur crater has reached approximately 3 kilometers. It has been reported that flights are continuing normally. Meanwhile, the last eruption of the volcano occurred on August 22 and ended on September 6. Iceland, located between the two largest tectonic plates in the world, the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates, has 32 active volcanoes.
